The Deodorant Swap

TalloTalk #2: The Deodorant Swap

Let’s kick off our second low-tox swap series with something most of us use every single day: deodorant. I changed my deodorant years ago and honestly, I feel the less you use chemicals, the less you need deodorant.

Here’s the thing, most mainstream deodorants are packed with stuff your body doesn’t need. We’re talking aluminium, synthetic fragrance (a catch-all term for who-knows-what), and preservatives that don’t belong anywhere near your lymph nodes.

The swap?

Look for a natural deodorant that’s aluminium-free and fragrance-free, with ingredients you can actually pronounce, like magnesium, arrowroot, and nourishing oils.

My go-to:

I personally use Wild Natural Deodorant—it’s refillable, low-tox, and actually works. Plus, the scents come from essential oils, not mystery chemicals that are designed to disrupt our bodies.

Other options to check out:

Salt of the Earth Natural Deodorant Spray – great for teens or sensitive skin.

Nuud Natural Deodorant – tiny tube, long-lasting, zero junk.

Weleda Citrus Deodorant – fresh, simple, and made by a brand that respects your skin and the planet.

A heads-up:

Your armpits might go through a little detox phase as they adjust. It’s totally normal (and worth it). As i said above, after this process, you will honestly need less deodorant.

Remember, it’s not about perfection, it’s about progress. One swap at a time adds up to a whole lot of good. The more you get into this, the easier it becomes.

Tried one you love? Let us know which ones work for you, so we can share with each other.

With love,
